Does it work with every image?+−
It works best when one subject stands out clearly from the background. Hair, fur, busy backgrounds, glass and see-through objects may need manual touch-ups. Check the result before you download it; we can't guarantee a perfect cutout.
What can I upload, and what do I get?+−
On this page, upload one JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 4 MB and 16 megapixels. Animated images aren't supported. You get a PNG up to 1,440 pixels on its longest side, with the original proportions. Choose a transparent or white background before you download.
How many images can I process per day?+−
Each image we accept uses one removal. Retrying the same image in the same session and network, or the same signed-in account, doesn't use another. If an accepted image fails, it still counts, because processing may already have run. Limits reset at midnight UTC, shown in your local time. When you sign in, you switch to your account's daily removals; removals used without an account don't carry over.
What happens to my image?+−
We send your image to HummingBytes' processing service, hosted on Modal. Your upload and result are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours, and result links stop working then. Anyone who has a result link can open it until it expires, so share links with care. Our providers' backups may follow their own retention schedules. Images aren't added to your HummingBytes gallery.
Can I remove backgrounds in ChatGPT?+−
Yes, if you've connected your HummingBytes account to ChatGPT. Attach an image up to 10 MB and ask ChatGPT to remove its background. When you're signed in, it uses the same daily removals as this page, and it never starts a paid generation on its own.
